INTERCOOLER – WHAT IS IT AND WHAT ARE ITS WORKING PRINCIPLES?


Intercooler is an intake air cooling device that usually we see on supercharged and turbocharged engines. Intercoolers, as their name suggests, cool the intake charge of forced induction engines.

 

Due to the cooling of the intake air, the air gets denser and thus, has more oxygen. As a result to this, the engine is allowed to burn more fuel in each cylinder, while increasing its power.
