Thrust SSC or Thurst-Super Sonic Car is the fastest car in the world. Also this car holds the world land speed record, set on 15 October 1997. It achieved a speed of 1,228 km/h (763 mph) and became the first land car to officially break the sound barrier. Developed by Richard Noble, Glynne Bowsher, Ron Ayers and Jeremy Bliss, this car is powered by two Rolls-Royce Spey 202 jet engines which generate 222 kN (50,000 lb) of thrust and burned around 4 Imperial gallons per second.
